Gregory Brown Jr is a visual artist based in Newport News, Virginia.
Gregory Brown Jr., also known as @GregArtsToo, but more famously as Novusblack, is a visual artist whose work is a testament to his unwavering passion for energy, emotion, and their interplay with color and the physical world. His mixed media creations delve into the essence of materials, weaving concept and symbolism into every stroke. Armed with a Bachelor’s in General Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Greg's art is a vibrant dialogue between the viewer and the experiential meanings he conveys through dynamic colors and shapes.
He was born in Baltimore, MD, and lives in Newport News, VA, where he works and propels his visual practice. As a person of service, Gregory found that creating murals was a way to provide that while giving back to the community. He hopes to expand on the art culture with creative inspiration, the vibrancy of colors, and the compelling imagery painted on the walls of Newport News City limits and Hampton Roads.
